Review: Nothing hits quite like a dose of that raw Midwestern noise Wolf Eyes are capable of conjuring. Nate Young's troublesome project has shirked popular consensus for 25 years now, following its own gutter-dwelling logic into ever slimier surroundings. Of course not everything along such a path is perfect, but when the noise hits right, it's majestic. On Dreams In Splattered Lines, released on the ever-excellent Disciples label, Young and fellow Michigan miscreant Jonny Olson are on superlative form, wreaking some tangible brilliance out of scattershot chaos. Just listen to 'Plus Warning' and you'll understand - this is Wolf Eyes at their best.

Vertabre (Sync 24 remix) (5:54)
Review: Scanone is a producer who has proven his versatility and so it's no wonder he's been tapped up for some killer tunes by the Reposition label. This blistering electro EP features three originals that mix up industrial textures with caustic drums and star-gazing synth work. 'Vivre' is an eye-watering opener with sheet metal sounds and frosty pads, 'Kraft' is then a slower more pensive electro soundscape and 'Vertabre' has a truly brutal groove that will rattle the walls of any club space, as well as dislodge brain cells. Sync 24 rounds things out with a remix of the same cut that becomes a sonic blizzard.

Industrial Model (6:29)
The ELKA Experiment (5:39)
Remodel (5:29)
Elements & Space (5:33)
Review: Veteran electro-oddities producer Intergalactic Gary, hailing from The Hague, offers up four new sonic prototypes for his latest eureka-moment-in-sound, 'Industrial Model'. Like playful blueprints for some godforsaken sonic Von Neumann machine, tracks like 'Elements & Space' and 'The ELKA Experiment' combine emotion and surrealism with such force and skill that it quite convincingly recalls the human feeling of panic as an analog-machinic-army takes on a mind of its own. Our fave is the janky-ambient cut 'Remodel', which proves said sonic army has the capacity to shapeshift on the nanoparticular level. Freaky!

MiniLuv (4:00)
Review: Having built his reputation via a trio of must-check EPs on Bokeh Versions, Mars89 transfers to Alex Hall's "mutant electronics" imprint Natural Sciences. The producer is a neat fit on the imprint, with "2020" containing a quartet of creepy, hard-wired, industrial-tinged cuts that seem eerily fitting for these troubled times. He begins with the bone-rattling beats, machine-gun percussion hits, ricocheting metallic clonks and gut-punching bass of "GoodThing", before successfully fusing mutilated industrial sounds and paranoid rhythms on "JoyCamp". Over on side B, "DayOrder" is a strangely swung slab of mind-altering electronica that defies easy description, while "MiniLuv" is a thumping stomp through lo-fi techno territory in the company of a steroid-fired monster.

Headhunter (V1.0) (5:00)
Welcome To Paradise (V1.0) (5:20)
Review: Belgian electronic pioneers Front 242 forged a classic with their 1988 LP 'Front by Front', the third full-length project that cemented the group as mainstays of Industrial, specifically with the song 'Headhunter' - the group's most popular song to date. A clash between popular 80s synth-pop codes of the times and a driving metallic bass to accompany Jean-Luc De Meyer's renowned howling vocal, it's no wonder as to why Front 242 was the go-to for industrial and techno samples up to the turn of the century. Make no mistake though this isn't just the 'Headhunter' show, the B-side has stellar company in 'Welcome to Paradise' has a fantastic vocal sample and a similarly fantastic thriving beat. "Hey poor!"

Review: It's incredible to think Blush is PVA's debut album. The South London band sound like they've been doing aggy, abrasive and regularly oddly beautiful cold synth wave stuff since it was invented, bringing their own edge and energy, influences and ideas to a table that - much as we love it - can often feel like it has become set in its ways. Then again, perhaps their breaking from some traditions is exactly what exposes their freshness.

Across 11 incredible sonic assaults we're dragged from pillar to post in the best way. 'Untethered' sounds like an alarm going off and panic setting in, opening the album without apology. 'Hero Man' takes things into a more rolling, wavy place, albeit wasp-in-jar keyboard lines underpin things. 'The Individual' slows us down and ups the nasty; spoken word style lyrics and grungy, grimy atmosphere making it a stand out. Meanwhile, 'Seven' drops just ahead of the finale for blissful, twisted but honest romance.

Review: This version of Chris & Cosey's Musik Fantastique! is a reissue of their original 1992 album, which features a mix of new wave, post-punk, and electronic influences to produce a slick slew of dreamy melody and threnody. Chris & Cosey's sharp, often confrontational lyrics explore themes of love, politics, and society, on what is otherwise a more centre-field and dreamy album in the pair's overall brutal discography; it's a cherished part of their synthpop / dream pop era from the early 90s.

Review: Titan of the darkest caverns of ambient culture, Lustmord brings his A-game to this soundtrack for chilling drama "First Reformed", which originally came out in 2017. Even without knowledge of the film itself, the quintessentially ominous mood cast from the first track to the last is as seductive as anything from Lustmord's extensive back catalogue (that started around 1981). It's a slow-moving study in sonic space rendering as much as an evocative dose of dread, but there's space for the odd shard of melody in just a few places. The icy refrain in "Eden" is not one to warm the heart, but it cuts through the gloom with crystalline precision.

Zombies Under Stress - "Maan Zal Zijn" (Svengalisghost remix)
Mark Forshaw - "Submission"
Review: REPRESS ALERT: Contort Yourself has once again gathered the best and boldest from past and present for its fourth EP. To begin with we have the grimacing visage of Volition Immanent, an intense live act made up of Parrish Smith and Mark Van de Maat (Knekelhuis). Behind rawkish distortion, splintered beats and acrid bars screams a boiled anger; a track spitting on the divides of punk and electronics. Nastiness is taken up a notch as noise ne'er-do-wells Zombies Under Stress take over. Static is bent and doubled across thick chords and collapsed clap in the 1986 "Maan Zal Zijn" before the raw and raging battery of "In Onze Tijd." L.I.E.S. regular Svengalisghost grapples with "Maan Zal Zijn, channelling the original's rage into a mechanical monster. The 12" is bookended with bite as Mark Forshaw (Tabernacle/Berceuse Heroique) closes with the tortured and torrential thump of "Submission." A callous, caustic and fervently cruel EP.

It joins the dots between their earlier and second phase work and sounds as good now as it did over 30 years ago. Review: Having made his name during the late '90s and early 2000s as a maker of particularly forthright techno, Oliver Ho has broadened his horizons in recent years. Nowhere is that more obvious on his Broken English Club project, which debuted last year with a pair of industrial and EBM minded releases for Jealous God and Minimal Wave offshoot Cititrax. Here he returns to the latter, laying down more fuzzy, straight-to-tape journeys into analogue, mid '80s dancefloor experimentalism. There's naturally much to enjoy, from the peak Cabaret Voltaire grittiness of "Drycutting", and the bleak EBM throb of "Ritual Killing", to the ghostly synthesizers, Jaydee bass and droning textures of "Channel 83".

Review: New material from Throbbing Gristle's Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti should always be celebrated and their latest joint opus will be of particular delight to hardcore fans. Carter Tutti plays Chris & Cosey is a logical extension of the live show of the same name the pair have been performing and perfecting over the past three years, transferring revisited classics from the stage to the album format. Completed to heed requests for the release of a live album, this double LP features some eight CC classics like "Driving Blind" and "Obsession" newly reworked and recorded at their Norfolk studio. Of course it all sounds as imperious and industrially challenging as you'd expect. Excitingly for completists, there is a second LP included that houses remixes only previously available on a tour-only CD.

Review: There's definitely a likelihood that at least a few of the people you play this record to will ask 'what is this music?' The fact it's possible to interpret that question in different ways is certainly fitting, considering some of the pieces here can be considered challenging, the same tracks others will be immediately drawn to.

'Gravity 5' is a prime example - a tune that partly invokes some of the more spatial and wobbly Plastikman output of the 1990s. By comparison, the rhythmic whirs and grind of 'Morast', low-hanging hummed refrains on 'Emotions', and ghostly, Burial-intro-esque atmosphere threatening to mask 'Laplacian''s broken staccato kicks sound positively chart-friendly. As moody and brooding as it is memorable and strangely intoxicating, unique would be one word that springs to mind.

Divide & Rule: Part 1
Orphx & JK Flesh - "Live In Amsterdam"
Vofa - "Agosame"
Fragedis - "Disillusion"
Review: Greek label Pi Electronics bring together four native producers for this various artists EP that takes no prisoners, two years after the first such compilation. It features tracks taken from the full length comp of the same name - the rest will no doubt come on their own wax later - and opens with a 10 minute recording by Orphx and JK Flesh (Justin Broadrick) that is taken from a live show they did in Amsterdam. Vofa's 'Agosame' is another thrilling bit of blistering, lo-fi techno and Fragedis goes hard with the brutalist drums and dark, caustic textures of 'Disillusion.'
