Are You Ready (6:40)
Pulse (4:34)
Encoder (Sansibar remix) (7:09)
Review: O-Wells and 41ISSA team up for their first joint EP, with three tracks full of big room manoeuvres that clock in somewhere between electro, techno and trance, plus a Sansibar remix of 'Encoder' to complete the package. 'Suzuki' outrageously throbbing sequencers bring the decadence of electroclash to mind, but the likes of 'Are You Ready' and 'Pulse' are more gradual builders, with a touch of Carl Craig in his 69 mode. The Sansibar mix is a bleepy electro cut blessed with plenty of drama. Nice work all round.

Review: 4E used to be Khan's apartment number in New York City's East Village back in the late 90's. 4E became the trademark sound for his downbeat acid infused electro work. On his kitchen floor he produced a very unique brand of futuristic funk tracks with only a ROLAND TB-303, SH-101 and the Hip-Hop fundamental SP1200 drum sampler. Besides a couple of 12"s for Force Inc. Music and the "Gentle Killer E.P." on Freddy Fresh's Socket imprint, 4E released the highly acclaimed downbeat electro album "4E4ME4YOU" on German glitch label Mille Plateaux. Back in 1998 4E shared the now legendary 12" with I-F "Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass" on the "From Beyond Series" by Ectomorph's Interdimensional Transmissions. Pills & Thrills" on Temple Traxx is four previously unreleased acid-electro stomper that are as funky and noisy as it can get on an East Village kitchen floor.

Ask Isadora (4:41)
Conga Banana (4:35)
Middle Eastern Cooking (4:58)
Mode (4:43)
Review: Under the alias 4E, producer Can Oral created his own unique sound of raw, futuristic acid-electro. The A-Side tracks "Ask Isadora" and "Conga Banana" first appeared on the album, Blue Note, released on Home Entertainment in 1996. On the flip are two unreleased tracks picked from his extensive archive and edited by FIT Siegel. These were also recorded during this era, which Can describes below:

"In the 90s I moved to NYC to start a band with Jimi Tenor. I had a small flat in the East Village with the apartment number 4E and that became my artist name for the downtempo and electro material I was working on. The style I called Futuristic Electro because I didn't want to relate to the old school with this. I had my studio on the kitchen floor and pretty much only used EMU SP-1200, TB-303, TR-808 and SH-101 by good ol' Roland. In a way NYC was still developing because it was all about house music. In 1995, I opened Temple Records in Manhattan with Dr Walker from Air Liquide and DJ DB from Smile Communications. The record shop was inside the Liquid Sky clothing store. After a fire in the shop, along with a falling out with the owner I decided to talk to a fortune teller to find out what the future held. Her name was Isadora, and she had a TV show called "Ask Isadora." She told me on live television to move out, have my own shop and be independent, so I did. Thanks Isadora!"

A2 - "Open Your Mind" (6:52)
A2 - "Entity" (7:35)
Andy Panayi - "Acidbend" (6:28)
Stopouts - "Pass Go" (8:00)
Review: Always a good week when some new RAND Muzik drops. The Leipzig imprint's brand of understated grooves are on fine display once again on this various artists EP. On RM 12015, feel the low-slung and funky dub of A2's 'Open Your Mind' which they follow up with some moody computer funk on the next track 'Entity'. Over on the B side, Andy Panayi serves up some dusty 303 shenanigans on 'Acidbend' in the vein of classic Cabinet Records and closing it out is Stopouts with the subterranean breaks of 'Pass Go'.

Dark Dancefloor (4:48)
Take Nine Oh Nine (8:15)
Can You Keep Up? (4:32)
Review: The Abstract Eye aka Gifted & Blessed always makes electrifying music that brims and bristles with energy. It is dense and textural and requires close attention to unpack and get lost in but that effort is always more than repaid. This is another brilliantly heavy outing, a first on Technoindigenous, that makes great use of one of the most legendary bits of gear in any studio - the TR-909, Here the artist finds new ways to make it sing with acid-laced house, clattering percussion and cosmic synth work that will rewire your brain.

When The Sun Meets The Acid (4:06)
Review: Big up to the Orson label for hitting a quarter of a century of releases. Malata based artists Neil Hales aka Acidulant gets the nod and shows of his love of direct acid sounds. He has done similar on the likes of DJ Pierre's labels Jack Trax Records and Afro Acid but really hits the next level here with hard hitting and turbocharged bangers like 'Heavy Max' next to slower, more spaced out and melancholic jams like 'Butify'. The flipside starts off deep and atmospheric with 'Forget Your Imagination' and that pensive vibe continue through 'Nuhamba' before dramatic closer 'When The Sun Meets The Acid.'

Acidulant - "Hauz Trax" (5:47)
Voiron - "Bon Kick Voiron" (3:40)
Voiron - "Digital Voiron Workstation" (4:30)
Voiron - "Sugar Voiron" (4:31)
Review: Some six years after debuting via a deliciously angular and energetic EP from Jaquarius and Mono-Enzyme 307, the Acid Avengers imprint notches up release number 20. Like most of the label's EPs, it's a multi-artist affair. Sometime Balkan Vinyl and Bass Assault artist Acidulant handles side A, bouncing between rushing, piano-sporting 1992 hardcore revivalism ('Super Rave'), sub-heavy deep electro haziness ('Save The Last Rave') and throbbing, arpeggio driven trance/breakbeat techno fusion ('Hauz Trax'). Voiron, who last graced the label back in 2016, takes over on the flip. The Paris-based producer first fuses glistening, spacey melodies, twisted acid lines, post-electro beats and dirty bass on 'Bon Kick Voiron', before opting for deep acid house on 'Digital Voiron Workstation' and atmospheric, Orbital-meets-'90s tech-house on 'Sugar Voiron'.

Lectro Cod E - "Don't Want No Smoke" (5:18)
Review: The second volume of the Alien Transmissions series is another mighty fine various artists offering. It kicks off with some darker, acid-laced electro that has menacing bass and kicks so booming your eardrums will tickle. Hatch's 'Future Sounds Of A Laundrette' has all the loopy clatter you might expect of a tune with such a title and Defunkt Dialekt then layers up the most rustic sounds, prickly hits and squealing synths into something utterly arresting on 'Take Aim.' Last of all is the high-speed intergalactic electro workout that is Lectro Cod E's 'Don't Want No Smoke' with its crisp boom-bap and coruscated bass.

Defend Your Planet
The Advent & Zein Ferreira - "Defend Your Planet" (4:41)
Assembler Code - "Line Of Sight" (5:19)
Carl Finlow - "Syncopated Automated" (6:57)
Versalife - "SH09" (6:02)
Review: This is a special sampler 12" taken from the Various Artists compilation Defend Your Planet that Avoidant Records put out. It features a heavyweight crew of electro mainstays, first of which are The Advent & Zein Ferreira. Their 'Defend Your Plane' is a turbo powered cosmic assault with skewed synths and high speed drums. Assembler Code's 'Line Of Sight' doesn't let up, powering on through sheet metal snares and juddering drum programming and then man like Carl Finlow layers in prickly melodies, dark sci-fi energy and booming bass. Analogue master Versalife shits things down with the shadowy 'SH09.'

Carl Finlow - "Optogenetic" (7:17)
Detroit's Filthiest - "Werewolf" (5:21)
Modulator AKA Freddie Fresh - "Promars" (5:27)
Review: EPM20 Ep2 goes off on an electro tangent here. On this one, we have veteran producer Cisco Ferreira aka The Advent teaming up with his son Zein on the ferocious electro dystopia of "Strangeform" and as if that was not enough, another legend, the one and only Carl Finlow appears next with the abstract, cybernetic beats of "Optogenetic". Over on the flip, we have someone by the name of Detroit's Filthiest (quite an accolade!) who is in fact Motor City stalwart Julian Shamou (Motor City Electro Company) known for his work as 313 Bass Mechanics or Digitek, and longstanding hero of the Midwest Freddie Fresh should need no introduction; his contribution here under the Modulator alias is the deep mind IDM journey "Promars".

DeFeKT - "Radar" (4:03)
Zobol - "Data Wars" (5:01)
Review: Exit Planet Earth continues its exploration of the world of electro universe with an expansive, extended six track EP, featuring The Advent x Zein Ferreira, DeFeKT, London Modular Alliance, Konertymi and Zobol. The Advent, whose weekly Gardening Club residency in the mid-90s helped to drag electro out of the realms of the retro and back into the future, team up with Zein Ferreira for a Kraftwerk-on-speed extended mix of 'CarpeDiem', before London Modular Alliance's more moderately paced but still squiggle and bleep laced 'Lump of Coal' plus a 'beats' breakdown for the DJs. The B-side brings us the acid-powered 'Pulssi' by Konerytmi, the bouncy, breakdance-friendly 'Radar' by DeFeKT, and the relatively pure, optimistic sonics of Zobol's 'Data Wars'. Thumbs up all round.

House In Blue Rain (5:42)
Dancing Moon (7:55)
Throne Of Clay (6:51)
Review: A new project based out of Copenhagen - Aether's Spring comes shrouded in mystery but makes a bold statement with this first transmission. WATER: Dancing Moon 12" leads in with "House In Blue Rain," a downcast track bathed in melancholic pads and blown out percussion around a steady 4/4 tick. "Dancing Moon" is a more kinetic affair that works with all kinds of synth shapes alongside some primal drum machine percussion that lends the track a new wave quality that suits it just fine. Closer "Throne Of Clay" spreads across the B side in a brooding, journeying epic fit for the likes of classic James Holden or a more wave-minded Jon Hopkins.

Affie & Leila Yusuf - "Dublovr" (9:37)
Zobol - "Sense The Consensus" (7:22)
Acidulant - "The View Of Her Shade" (4:50)
Type-303 - "Knowhere" (6:25)
Review: While it's difficult to second-guess what Placid will select for each volume of his We're Going Deep label's compilation-style EPs, you can guarantee that it will be timeless-sounding, exquisitely produced, and most likely have some link to deep house, electro, acid or sci-fi techno. All of those boxes are ticked and then some on volume eight, which skips between melodious, acid-flecked dancefloor wooziness (Affie and Leila Yusuf's 'Dublvr'), warming sunrise-ready electro bliss (Zobol's 'Sense The Consensus'), ultra-deep, eyes-closed acid electro (Acidulant's 'The View of Her Shade') and IDM-tinged, intergalactic and dramatically pitched-down proto-jungle (Type-303's exceptional 'Knowhere'). Like its predecessors, this EP is nothing less than essential.

Solar Pulse (6:07)
Review: Age of Hyperion is one half of Alien Communication and here he lands on the label of the same name with the first part in his J.R. Isodore's Medicine Bottle series. It is a beguiling mix of electro and techno with weird grooves and innovative moods. The title cut is a slow and playful opener with jittery lines and smeared cosmic chords then it's into snappy rhythms and busted bass on Monkey Bones & Fish Brains' melodic madness on 'Ominus Voyage'. There are dark worlds explored on 'Material Metaphore' and 'Solar Pulse' then has whip-snapping synths lashing about over serene electro rhythms.

Review: After 16 months of pandemic-related hibernation, Kanja offshoot Svemir returns to action with a label debut from former Bass Agenda Recordings and Twilight 76 Records artist Alavux. The talented Serbian is in fine form from the off, with opener 'Kalemegdan' offering a near perfect fusion of crunchy, laidback electro beats, woozy synthesizer chords and picturesque melodies. He and pal Tomi Bojadzi then deliver contrasting mixes of collaborative cut 'Monday', with Bojadzi's warm, melodious and glacial 'live' take being followed by Alavux's bleeping, acid-fired club electro take. Finally, Alavux goes solo once more on sci-fi flavoured club electro treat 'Fuse Out'.

Review: 20/20 Vision has always been a label that sets the bar high when it comes to dancefloor releases - one of Yorkshire's most treasured institutions, to say the least. And while historically the imprint has often been on a tech-y house tip, lest we forget the is the crew that were letting a then-emergent Paul Woolford explore the outer reaches of electro house and breaks way back when, and that attitude hasn't really changed since.

Here the team hand the spotlight to another Leeds name, Alfred, who responds with three original tracks that are punchy, funky, engaging and hugely impactful. Broken beats, subtle rave hoover lines, mind-melting synth arpeggiations and a thoroughly futuristic feeling throughout. Definitely a powerful addition to any DJ's arsenal - the sort of tunes that can marry up well with so many styles and always grab maximum attention.

Lost In The Future (3:26)
Review: Rising Ukrainian producer Aliana shows off a bright, emotional sound on this debut EP. 'My Star Is Acid' kicks off with fresh breakbeats overlaid with metallic synths and busy melodies that uplift your mood. Tito Mazzetta joins Aliana for the more dubby and swinging Detroit house of 'In My Dream' which is a beautiful track and then 'Gravitational Pool' strips things right back to another dubby rhythm that is kinetic and holds you in suspense thanks to the sustained and eerie chords. 'Galaxy Orchestra' is a cosmic techno symphony with more great acid lines and 'Lost In The Future' is space-y ambient for deep thought. A superb debut.

Review: It's time to tune into those weird and wonderful frequencies from Alien FM once again. This time the intergalactic space travelers serve up their Monochromatic Images, a five track transmission from outer space that leaves you breathless. The titular track is a busy and bumping electro cut with organic pianos draped over squelchy and synthetic bass. "Recordman" is a much crunchier and more dystopian affair complete with freaky vocals, then "Out There" is a stripped back, sublime electro rhythm that is perfectly mysterious. Two further mixes close out a super tight EP.

Keith Tuckers and Blak Tony's work from the early nineties are master classes on the art of doing something different conceptually and musically. Electronic vocals on this lp. are classic as Tucker and Tony show from the start with the Art of illusion.......and nightmare. Pulsating arps and infectious bass lines round out the first two sides. Side two Infinity and Optaphonic Opera gives you a window into the styles of what was to come from Optic Nerve. Keith Tuckers solo project. This double LP has been sought after for a very long time.......

Monile - "Quin" (7:32)
Aline Umber - "Short Message Service" (5:31)
Review: Aline Umber is a new alias of Aline Brooklyn, hailing from the New York area's hottest tech house hub. Monile, meanwhile, is a Spanish artist whose past cuts never failed to dazzle for imprints such as Chez Doc. Together, the pair present a dazzling dialectic of straight tunage. 'Quin' is a cheeky and insidious minimal number, with filtrated and toothy basslines and reversed sound effects ensuring a moody groove. 'Short Message Service', meanwhile, is a danceably telecommunicative vision of the retrofuture - phone bleeps, 80s tropes, and a 4x4 undertow.

Kid Ginseng - "Chrome Belt Buckle" (feat DJ Quest-Questosahn) (6:26)
Cybereign - "My Feel" (5:17)
Review: Connecticut label, Kraftjerks, has made a name for itself as the east coast's prime electro label. Bringing us the sixth volume of their popular Machine Funk Is Our Game series they've pulled together an impressive array of artists including Alonzo, Daniel Savio, Deroboter, Kid Ginseng, and Cybereign. 'Nikki Don't Save Me' is the powerful, bass heavy track that opens the compilation. Veering through meteor fields and firing through wormholes, this is tonally dark electro at its best. 'Chrome Belt Buckle (feat. Questosahn)', a scratch-inflected journey through warped vocals and frenetic percussion, is another highlight. Perfect for the club or cruising down the highway, this is a cornerstone record for electro fans.

Freak Syndrome (feat partiboi69) (4:14)
Freaky With You (5:00)
Freaky Bitch (4:46)
She's A Freak (4:25)
Review: Mutual Pleasure clocks up a sixth outing here with more searing electro sounds. Behind the beats is Amadeezy who is from Boston and behind the much-loved trap and dirty south night PVRPLE. He makes plenty of sleazy sounds as demonstrated here on a fun, party-starting EP that is not low on quality. 'Freak Syndrome' (feat partiboi69) kicks off with booty-shaking bass and tight bars while 'Freaky Bitch' is just that with its bumping bottom ends over oversized kick drum funk next to a classic vocal sample. Two further, even more frenzied bass-driven bangers round out the b-side.

Review: It's been a while since we had any booty bass or freestyle through our channels, but that all changes with Amadeezy's Bass Boss. Hailing from Boston, Amadeezy is known for helming the trap and dirty south night PVRPLE, but his own productions tend towards many more interrelated styles, usually drawing on anything related to US hip house. Nothing polished or sheeny. 'Bass Boss' is an expert emulation of old car hoedown battle electro; the title track blends telephony R&B vocals with breaks and Rhodeses. Meanwhile, the likes of 'Bend Ya Back' and 'No Panties' lean towards the humour value of debauched jit music.
