Review: British producer Burland and Ghanaian vocalist Zongo Abongo join forces here for UK to GH, a new collaboration that collides the respective backgrounds of each artist. Reggae, highlife, dancehall, UK bass and rave all meet in a world of fresh rhythm and melodic invention. 'Telephone No Wire' opens with a feel-good highlife sound on a 2-step beat with vocalist Adotey Johnson in fine form. 'Nyura' heads to the club with weighty bottom ends and enchanting melodies then things get darker on the flip with 'Try To Test' exploring another take on 2-step with hints of UKG and grime overlaid with catchy vocal hooks. 'Last Chance' pairs dancehall vocals with downtempo breaks for a superb conclusion.

Review: To close the 3 EP reissue series of Neville King and Lee Laing's King & City label, the all female group Charisma are presented with their summer infused Lovers cut, Everything Is Fine.
Three Lewisham friends, Angela Richardson on lead vocals, with Geselle and Janie backing, were active from 1982 to 1990, but are really remembered for the early recordings made with Neville King. Their debut, Everything Is Fine rides the Lovers sound at its peak. Written with One Blood's Lloyd Robinson, with the rest of band of Robinson brothers providing the rhythm section, this is pure South London sound system music.
Recorded again at TMC (Tooting Music Centre) Recording Studios - working alongside the likes of Dillinger, Tradition and New Musik - Everything Is Fine rides a beautiful soul reggae rhythm as Trevor (Drums) and Lloyd (Bass) Robinson set the foundations, while One Blood provide the Dub mix.
A true love's lament, a song of hope, serenity and pure vibes. Label head Chuggy slides behind the mixing desk for an extended Discomix that stretches, loops and dubs the vocal and dub back forth, to close a glimpse at this uniquely British phenomenon, taking reggae closer to it's heart and soul.

Review: Dubquake Records have got a hefty one on their hands here: O.B.F's 'Fufu Lala' is a seriously dangerous tune with great vocal work from featured artists Charlie P and Aza Lineage. The French sound system crew really step it up here and push dub in new directions with a heavy cross pollinated sound that takes in roots, grime and dancehall before spitting out the freshness. The Charlie P tracks are super personal works that are a precursor, so we hear, to a big new mixtape project. Review: The Banoffee Pies reissue series is back with a quick follow up to the last one with another set of crucial tunes from the Euphonic archives. The London duo made up of producer Rob Henry and former Graffiti artist turned DJ Nick Trimm were big player sin the 90s and worked with various key players in the dub scene. 'Revolution Solution' was recorded in New York with friends from the underground hip hop scene, Dr. Israel, Soothsayer and Kirsty Rock, and is a superb ragga jungle tune. 'Space In My Soul' is a gloriously cosmic bit of synth laced broken beat and then there's a trio of heady beat workouts including the downbeat outer space trip that is '7 Orbits.'
