Review: Since returning to action in 2016 after a seven-year break, 1990s techno survivor Lee Renacre AKA 100 Hz has released some of the best music of his career. This fine four-tracker marks the long-serving Londoner's first outing on Romanian imprint Amphia, who are best known for serving up sparse, minimalistic tech-house. As you'd expect, there's a slightly fuller sound here, though sonically it's as pleasingly druggy and mind-mangling as much of the imprint's output. Renacre brilliantly flits between trippy, arpeggio-driven, house-tempo techno (the otherworldly 'Machines of May'), dubstep-influenced UK bass/techno fusion ('Gadget', which echoes the ethos of his early 100 Hz releases with James Chapman), intergalactic tech-house ('Dark as Night'), and frankly filthy low-end wobblers ('Swiss').

Review: Amor fati is one of the core principles of stoicism - translated into English as "love of fate", or "love of one's fate" - it should therefore come as no surprise that Amor Fati's production work seems to dig deep into atmospheres while still riding on the immediate infectiousness of tech. Split over two tracks, the EP is a real giver, managing to do multiple things at once and not drop a single spinning plate. 'Stanton Carlisle', for example, nods to toy box techno and sharp micro house, all razor high hats, stepping snares, and bounding energy, using friendly noises to develop an arrangement that really doesn't let up. Over on 'Navarone Again', we're in more of a synth wave dystopia, waves of retro harmony and slightly ominous choral vocals intermixed with a sample about leaders of the universe.

Review: Nick Beringer is a man who can program and brilliantly tight and kinetic groove with his drum machines no matter the genre. This new 12" on Abartik finds him doing just that, firstly within a house framework on 'Transatlantic', a nice deep and silky cut with effortlessly cool vibes. 'Cash Call' is a more gritty minimal and tech fusion with bobbling bass and splashy hi hats, then 'Euro Gap' mixes up gurgling acid with neon chords and nice trippy designs that will work the afters. 'Rm90' keeps up that vibe with more deft designs and liquid electronic funk that waves its way deep into your brain.

Review: The Repeat label is doing a great service to the culture of real tech house, nodding to that late 90s sound and carrying work from the likes of Jay Tripwire, Eddie Richards and now Grant Dell. The Dis Chronicles series hits part two with some further obscurities from back in the day which sound as relevant now as they were futuristic back then. 'Disco Hit' was a collaborative effort from Dell and Richie Littler, and it's utterly addictive thanks to those cheeky DX7 organ licks, while Dell's 'Up Yer Strasse Dub' of Len Lewis' 'Illicit' is chunky and dubby in equal measure. Dell's own 'Fari A Come' completes the set with a more overt drop into dub territory, sampling a true Jamaican legend and showing how the tech house sound could transplant onto backroom, head-nodding gear in style.

Review: Dutch label PIV is doing a fine job of evolving the contemporary house sound with its slick electronic take on the timeless genre. This next EP is a mouthwatering one that brings together two of the best - Frenchman Djebli and legendary West Coast tech innovator Hipp E. They find a perfect sweet spot between their sound with 'Fall Into Groove' fusing funk kissed synth funk goodness with lush rolling beats. 'Supa Star' is another tightly coiled and balmy number with atmospheric vocals and lively percussive energy. The flip brings 'Hang Around' with another perfectly catchy and super breezy house groove and a rework of the opener that has a more cosmic future feel.

Review: French label Rutilance reaches across Europe to sign their first ever German artist in Djoko. He comes with a well-regarded CV and established tech house sound that is party ready. 'Holding Onto You' immediately makes its mark with nice bumping drums and a wailing vocal that will make you screw up your face. There is also some fine jazz stylings on 'Daylight' that brim with soul and then more turbo-charged peak time tackle in 'Step Han', a tune that manages to be both dynamic and slick. Review: He might not be able to play his trademark brand of swinging, UK-centric tech-house tunes to the public in clubs right now, but East End Dubz continues to serve up singles packed full of dancefloor-ready treats. His latest missive is predictably strong, particularly A-side 'Whisper'. An impressively atmospheric affair, the cut features lo-fi sounding electronic melodies rising above a chunky, hypnotizing bassline and his usual crispy, snare-heavy tech-house drums. The fun continues on the flip where 'Freak', a squelchy, acid-flecked mid-set bumper built around a limited number of teased and tweaked elements, is joined by 'Faze', which sounds like the sort of thing Sheffield sorts Swag released in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Each week they host an open mic, have karaoke and beer pong by the pool all with good beats and hot sun, as well as various other events in a range of venues. Review: Sketching out the physical space between one destination and the next, Eric OS's latest project, housed on his own label Space Trace, travels to the unknown outer edges of the universe. Kicking things off 'Mind Wide Open' follows the intergalactic course of a full-bodied, bassline-driven melody as it interweaves with celestial synths and pulsating percussion. 'Omen', the A2 track, has an instantly brighter feel - a habitable, plant-filled planet has been found amidst the depths of space, perhaps. On the flip side 'Shiitake' is an instant classic - a darkened melody intersects with punchy drums and cool-toned atmospheres. Review: Oslo-based Det Gode Selskab, like many labels from the Scandi-region, has its own distinctive take on house - it's lush, melody-rich and cosmic with plenty of dynamic drum work. Berlin-based Norwegian Henriku is next up to bring his own sounds into their world, and this atmospheric house and minimal exploration is hella impressive. 'I Do' works the floor into a steamy and hot house lather, 'Rush Fantasy' then gets a little twisted and freaky for later in the night and 'Pillow Talk' leans into a dusty Detroit house vibe. 'Nicotine 4 U' might be the best of the lot - a fluid bit of afterparty house with irresistible drums and warped neon lines.

Review: Fresh from delivering a solid three-tracker on Drum Chums, Hidden Spheres returns to Rhythm Section International with what could be his most expansive and hard-to-pigeonhole EP to date. The Manchester producer excels on the A-side with 'Tanzen', a pleasingly nostalgic, warehouse-ready affair available in two distinctive forms: the breezy piano-sporting, summery, analogue-rich deep house gem that is the spine-tingling club mix, and the sweat-soaked, sub-heavy jack-track that is the 'Mate mix'. Elsewhere, he opts for weighty sub-bass, looped stabs and vintage turn-of-the-90s deep house vibes on 'Mind Over Mate' and reaches for sparse electro-not-electro beats on the late '80s early morning brilliance of 'Not Of This World'. To round off the EP, Paula Tape opts for hands-raised acid house nostalgia on her fine revision of 'Tanzen'.

Review: Fresh from releasing the third and final part of the Oldivibes trilogy of EPs, Mulen Records co-founder Io (real name Aleksandr Voznichenko) offers up some aural 'Ecstasy' to get tech-house dancefloors moving. The EP-opening title track is a retro-futurist delight, with the Ukranian producer peppering a tactile, turn-of-the-90s warehouse groove with raw hip-house stabs, whispered vocal snippets and spacey synth sounds. The old school flavour continues on 'Deep In My Soul', where a 'Bombscare'-inspired lead line combines brilliantly with an organ bassline, smooth beats and swirling electronics, before Voznichenko reaches for psychedelic TB-303 style motifs, rolling drums, funky stabs and glassy-eyed riffs on 'Edge of Infinity'. Review: There is no doubting Jay Tripwire's credentials at this point. The Canadian has been turning out his own left of centre take on tech for many years, and always to a super high standard. Here he serves up more of the good stuff for The Other Side in the form of 'Narcotic Oscillator', firstly as a UG mix. It's dark, grubby and menacing low slung tech that becomes more airy and hypnotic as the WC mix. Ion Ludwig's Narco State mix then strips it back to a silky smooth and deep, dubbed out roller and Jay's 'Solace' closes with rubbery bass and tin pot percussive clatter for those back room after parties.

Review: Four new synaptic minimal techno bits from Intelligent Sounds - over-intelligent, perhaps, as the music contained on this 12" truly does sound like the overfiring of a wired-up-to-the-mainframe brain. Kame2's glitching, puffing and knocking style makes itself first known on the track 'Mister Over Sisters', on which there arguably isn't a single sixteenth note gap that doesn't have an interesting percussive sound filling it in. 'Syvazany' paces itself further it with a clearer palette and funky orientation. The brain's subconscious mind is explored on the B, with Silat Beksi and Wyro offering chordy, echoic versios of the respective A and B.

Review: Berlin scene veteran Diego Krause serves up the seventh release on his Unison Wax imprint and doing what he does best: deep and dubby tech house that's best served at the afterhours. Kicking off with the lo-slung tribal groove of the title track, Krause goes deeper into the morning hours next with the swirling and hypnotic minimalism of "Phenomena". On the flip, things get off to a bouncy start with the tripped-out and swing-fuelled house shenanigans of "The Company You Keep" followed by "Lost Tribe" which will draw you in with its entrancing and infectious bass-driven attitude.
